Walking in the Lake District - Haystacks

Another nice walk is Haystacks - this was one of Wainwright's favourite walks and I understand his ashes are spread at the top near the tarn

The views on the way up down to Buttermere are fantastic

We started the walk from the slate mine @ Honister Pass

Going up from the slate mine is quite steady !! and it is a lovely walk up to the tarn @ the top well worth it for the view

we continued over the top of haystacks and went back down to Buttermere

and back along the bottom before heading back up to the slate mine !! going back up is quite a trek but still a lovely walk.
